Denver has you covered for late-night dining adventures. Whether you’re returning from a concert, nightclub or movie, here are some locals’ favorites for staying out late.
Avanti F&B – This huge two-story warehouse has been converted to shelter a collection of shipping containers and each one is a self-contained mini-restaurant. Choose from the variety of cuisines and enjoy your meal in the communal dining area, complete with stunning views of downtown Denver. It’s open until 1 a.m., Thursday through Saturday (food served until 10 p.m.); and 11 p.m. (food served until 9 p.m.), Sunday through Wednesday.
City, O' City – If you're vegetarian or vegan, you must go here. And feel free to bring along your hardcore carnivorous friends. City, O' City welcomes all and does things with vegetables that will surprise and delight. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. They have a bar, patio and funky decor. Tea, coffee, whiskey, wine...you're covered.
Hard Rock Café – Watch for the 20-foot neon guitar at Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall and you’ve found Denver’s Hard Rock Café, established in 1998 and recently remodeled. Rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, great food, a large patio and live music Friday nights make this a happening place. Open daily until midnight.
Rock Bottom Brewery – Fresh, handcrafted beers brewed on premise are the highlight of this popular joint, but you can also fall in love with beer-inspired entrees, steak, ale dough pizza, tacos, burgers and sandwiches. Open until 2 a.m. daily.
Appaloosa Bar & Grill on the 16th Street Mall offers late-night food specials daily from 10 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. that includes the likes of tacos, lobster rolls, grilled cheese, fish & chips and lamb sliders. All dishes are made from scratch, right down to the ketchup! Appaloosa Bar and Grill, open 365 days a year, also is a live music venue, with music running until 11:30 p.m. on many nights.
Corner Office Restaurant & Martini Bar is a hip retro eatery that is the perfect “co-worker” for The Curtis – a DoubleTree by Hilton. Connected to the hotel on the corner of 14th & Curtis, the Corner Office is open from breakfast until midnight or 1 a.m. on most nights (except Mondays) and serves up global comfort food and creative martinis that induce flashbacks to the TV show “Mad Men.”
Terminal Bar is the ticket for midnight munchies at Denver Union Station. With a prime spot in the historic ticketing office and open until 2 a.m. nightly (midnight on Sundays), choose from snacks like deviled eggs and a big warm pretzel or go for a salad, sandwich, grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, or a delicious slice of dessert. Thirty Colorado beers and ciders on tap, wines by the glass, and signature and throwback cocktails will satisfy any thirst.
Henry’s Tavern in Denver Pavilions takes the local watering hole concept to a new stratosphere, incorporating ingredients and inspiration from the Denver area. A selection of 100 draft beers, including several locally crafted brews, pairs perfectly with barley malt pizzas, steaks, burgers, ribs, sandwiches, salads and more. The last seating in the dining room is midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 10 p.m. on other days.
Yard House ups the beer ante a notch with 130 tap handles, but there also are chilled martinis and great food at this upscale-casual eatery in the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel on the 16th St. Mall. Open until 1 a.m. nightly and 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, the last call for a bite to eat from an extensive menu is midnight, plus there is a late-night happy hour from 10 a.m. to close.
Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill – With loads of windows and a patio, Thirsty Lion expertly combines the feel of European and American pubs to serve up scratch-cooked cuisine, more than 50 beers and ciders, cocktails made with fresh fruit purées and juices, and various wines. Located by Denver Union Station, it’s open until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; midnight Monday through Thursday.
